Visit to the Big Potato

Sometimes I need a dose of my Mama and Daddy. There are times when it's really hard living an hour and a half from my parents. Phone calls don't take away the distance. I missed everyone so much we made a last minute trip to Apopka.

Lexi enjoyed her debut with the Ulmer clan. She played with my parents dogs all day. She loved them but I don't think the feeling was mutual. They were a little overwhelmed by her excitement. Maybe they will be better friends when she grows up!

We surprised everyone except for Mom. It was so good to see the surprised look on everybody's faces! We had so much fun on our visit. I'm already ready to come again! Can we come say tomorrow?

25

Forrest,

This time last year I took you to Hard Rock for your birthday. We watched a movie and strolled through Citywalk. At the end of the night it was pouring down rain...we were drenched but we were as happy as could be! That was this night I knew you would be my one and only true love! It feels like yesterday that we feel for each other. I can't believe it has already been a year.

I love everything about you...from your daily walk to the way you make me laugh! You amaze me everyday. Your love for your family and friends overwhelms me! I have never met a nicer person.

Twenty five years ago you were born. I am so thankful that the Lord created you! You have made me laugh endless times and brought so much joy to my life. I am so blessed to have you as my husband! I love you darling! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

One, Two, Three Strikes You're OUT!

A few weeks ago Uncle James gave us tickets to the Rays vs. Rangers game and the Big & Rich concert afterwards. We made the drive to the stadium and parked right next to the stadium. It was so nice, no walk or hassle -just coast into the stadium and enjoy our great seats!

The view from our seats.

During the concert Forrest got star struck....but not by the band! We were watching Big & Rich when he looked over and stared. Scott Kazmir and Matt Garza (the winning pitcher of night) stood right beside him. He was dead still for a few seconds then he turned to me and said "CAMERA, CAMERA!" Forrest wasn't quick enough to get a picture with him but we did get one of the back of his head.

My 2nd LOVE

As I type this, our adorable new yorkipoo puppy is snoozing away in my lap. She is the cutest pile of two pounds I have ever seen! Our baby, Lexie, plays rough with Forrest and snuggles with me. She's a perfect combination for us.

These two love to watch the Rays together

The things we have done for our dog so far...

  • Wake up at 3 am with a feeling she might need to go outside
  • Take her to the grocery store because we had left her alone that morning
  • Feed her before the morning coffee
  • Go on walks for her and then carry her the whole way back because she's too tired
  • Hand feed her every four hours
  • Jump up and stop what we are doing at any little wimper she makes

I never thought we'd love a dog this much...but WE DO!

Mom, I boiled the noodles this time!

Last night we had Brandi over for a taste of the Italian cuisine. I had a blast cooking for the evening. The lasagna turned out a lot better than the first time I made it! Back in the day...I forgot to boil the noodles so the lasagna was "crunchy." (I've come a long way. Makes you proud right, Mom?) We also had Caesar Salad with French Bread and a Cream Cheese Poundcake.

The three of us had a good time playing Apples to Apples after dinner. For those who know us well, YES, it did get a wee bit competitive but it was all in good fun. After a few minutes to cool down we were all as chill as cucumbers.

Thank you, Brandi, for coming...Forrest & I can't wait for the next time!

One, Two, Three Strikes You're OUT!

Forrest and I have had a good time this season watching Bayli at her softball games. For us, it's like the attraction of the opposites when it comes to softball. Forrest knows everything there is to know about the game. I, on the other hand, just want to hear the kids laughing and having a good time. It makes for some very interesting conversation.

Softball Outtakes...

Forrest: "There's no crying in softball!"
Me: "They are just upset. They need a hug."

Forrest: "Hit it to the slow girl in center field!"
Me: "Honey, that's mean! She's trying her hardest."

Forrest: "Those girls need to be chewed out!"
Me: "No, the coach needs to tell them to enjoy themselves and have a good time."

Visit with the Hataways

We spent a restful week in Gray and it was exactly what we needed. We did everything from lazin' around to shopping and believe it or not the boys even went golfing : ) We are so thankful to have such wonderful family! Thank you Michael, Dana, Allie and Joshua for a wonderful time!

The whole gang toured Juliette and saw where Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed. We also got some delicous smoothies and did some more shopping!

Allie's hands and mouth were covered in Dana's chocolatey goodness of a birthday cake.

I never thought I'd hear my husband playing with imaginary friends. He turned into putty when Allie asked him to play pretend with her teddy bears. It was so sweet!

We spent a few afternoons out by the pool to watch the kids splash, "swim" and giggle.
