And The Winner Is.....

Forrest and I have been looking around at property and houses for fun recently. We found a Cardel home that we LOVE! It just happens to be that Cardel was holding a raffle for a free Smartcar to everyone who viewed their model home. So we entered the drawing and didn't think much of it. A few weeks later, a man from Cardel called said we were one of the 3 finalists! We were ecstatic to say the least! Forrest had the honor of picking between the left and right key. (Whoever picked the winning one got the car) With no hesitation, he picked the right key because he said "I want to be on the right hand of God!" He put the key in the ignition and BAM it cranked! Honestly, we were in shock! Nothing like this ever happens to anyone! We feel that this was a complete blessing from the Lord!

All Dogs Go to Heaven?

Forrest : "Lord, please bring peace to our fishy. Amen!"

Our beta fish, Hondo, has been alive for over 7 years. This week he has taken a turn for the worse. Our little family is all worked up over it. Lexi wants to eat him...me and Forrest want to keep him comfortable.

As soon as we get over the idea of praying for fish; we will tackle the dogs going to Heaven concept.

First of Many

The Lord has truly blessed us with such loving families. We spent our first Thanksgiving as Mr. and Mrs. Sumner at Grandma Ulmer's house. There were so many people there that we had to set up tables outside. God is so GOOD! I believe family is one of the greatest blessings! Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because it's about being together! It was even better this year because I've grown to appreciate the time we all have together even more. If it wasn't for family, I don't know where I'd be! Love you Guys!

Engagement-Versary

October 19, 2008, Forrest proposed to me. Now, a year later he brought me flowers and a card for our "1 year Engagement Anniversary." (I can't forget- he also gave me a tub of my favorite birthday cake icecream) I have to say, I believe I have the sweetest husband in the world! Not only does he remember my birthday and our engagement-a-versary but he also remembers our first date, first "I love you" and first kiss. The Lord has been so good to me...

Out in the Boondocks

We have officially been to the boonies. They are located about six hours down miles of dirt roads.

Uncle Elder offered to let us stay at his house up in Ft. Gaines so we took him up on the offer. We had a blast! We hiked, rode the EZ-Go, fished, ate the fish, played some cards and of course we HAD to find a golf course along the way. It was so nice to get away and be in the country. Forrest even got to learn how to clean catfish. Although that wasn't his favorite part of the trip. We loved the trip and can't wait to go back.

Quick Road Trip

It's a Saturday, Forrest is playing in a golf tournament, the house is clean and laundry is done so where do I go...to my parents for the day. Mom and Dad asked me what I wanted to do and I said just sit around and talk. (Imagine that?) I got there early enough for breakfast and stayed until the Gator game was over. Family and football all in the same trip- it can't get much better than this : )

Puppy Pads

Since Lexi has such a little bladder and refuses to go to the bathroom outside, we have resorted to using puppy pads. They have been working really well. I put one on the kitchen floor. Once she uses it a few times I throw it away. She's been doing really well using the puppy pads until...I left Forrest home with Lexi to go to the store. I came home and found him taking ALL of the puppy pads out of the box and lining our ENTIRE kitchen with them! Evidentally she had an accident. He fixed that. How can a puppy mess up an area when there are puppy pads covering the floor? I only wish I had taken a picture of the scene I walked in to find!

Visit to the Big Potato

Sometimes I need a dose of my Mama and Daddy. There are times when it's really hard living an hour and a half from my parents. Phone calls don't take away the distance. I missed everyone so much we made a last minute trip to Apopka.

Lexi enjoyed her debut with the Ulmer clan. She played with my parents dogs all day. She loved them but I don't think the feeling was mutual. They were a little overwhelmed by her excitement. Maybe they will be better friends when she grows up!

We surprised everyone except for Mom. It was so good to see the surprised look on everybody's faces! We had so much fun on our visit. I'm already ready to come again! Can we come say tomorrow?

25

Forrest,

This time last year I took you to Hard Rock for your birthday. We watched a movie and strolled through Citywalk. At the end of the night it was pouring down rain...we were drenched but we were as happy as could be! That was this night I knew you would be my one and only true love! It feels like yesterday that we feel for each other. I can't believe it has already been a year.

I love everything about you...from your daily walk to the way you make me laugh! You amaze me everyday. Your love for your family and friends overwhelms me! I have never met a nicer person.

Twenty five years ago you were born. I am so thankful that the Lord created you! You have made me laugh endless times and brought so much joy to my life. I am so blessed to have you as my husband! I love you darling! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

One, Two, Three Strikes You're OUT!

A few weeks ago Uncle James gave us tickets to the Rays vs. Rangers game and the Big & Rich concert afterwards. We made the drive to the stadium and parked right next to the stadium. It was so nice, no walk or hassle -just coast into the stadium and enjoy our great seats!

The view from our seats.

Forrest on the infield at Tropicana Field

During the concert Forrest got star struck....but not by the band! We were watching Big & Rich when he looked over and stared. Scott Kazmir and Matt Garza (the winning pitcher of night) stood right beside him. He was dead still for a few seconds then he turned to me and said "CAMERA, CAMERA!" Forrest wasn't quick enough to get a picture with him but we did get one of the back of his head.

My 2nd LOVE

As I type this, our adorable new yorkipoo puppy is snoozing away in my lap. She is the cutest pile of two pounds I have ever seen! Our baby, Lexie, plays rough with Forrest and snuggles with me. She's a perfect combination for us.

These two love to watch the Rays together

After Lexie's nap at the golf course

The things we have done for our dog so far...

  • Wake up at 3 am with a feeling she might need to go outside
  • Take her to the grocery store because we had left her alone that morning
  • Feed her before the morning coffee
  • Go on walks for her and then carry her the whole way back because she's too tired
  • Hand feed her every four hours
  • Jump up and stop what we are doing at any little wimper she makes

I never thought we'd love a dog this much...but WE DO!

Mom, I boiled the noodles this time!

Last night we had Brandi over for a taste of the Italian cuisine. I had a blast cooking for the evening. The lasagna turned out a lot better than the first time I made it! Back in the day...I forgot to boil the noodles so the lasagna was "crunchy." (I've come a long way. Makes you proud right, Mom?) We also had Caesar Salad with French Bread and a Cream Cheese Poundcake.

The three of us had a good time playing Apples to Apples after dinner. For those who know us well, YES, it did get a wee bit competitive but it was all in good fun. After a few minutes to cool down we were all as chill as cucumbers.

Thank you, Brandi, for coming...Forrest & I can't wait for the next time!
