7 & 8 Months

Aiden turned 8 Months Old December 25th

Weight: Approx 18 lbs

Eyes:
Sparkly Blues

 Nicknames:
Bubba, Scoot Scoot

Sleep:
8:30 pm-7 am in his crib
His morning nap is at 10 for 2 hours followed by his afternoon nap at 3 for about 1-2 hours
My supply dipped a few times this month which I think made Aiden wake for a night feeding.

Diet:
(at 8 months)
8 am: Cut up steamed fruit pear then Nurse
12-12:30: Steamed Veggies, Nurse
6: Usually whatever we are eating mashed up

*When Aiden was 7 months old I started going by his cues for nursing. He "snacks" more which is completely fine by me (like every 1.5 hrs). He'll usually nurse for 20 min and be done. He's old enough now that he can tell me when he needs to nurse (usually its him wrapping his arm around my back and banging on my should with the other)

Activities:
Playing with his Laugh & Learn Farm
Jumperoo while I'm in the shower
"Folding clothes"...Aiden will sit on the bed for an hr+ while I fold clothes. We usually just talk and he'll look out the window while playing peekaboo with towels.

New Things:
Aiden "quacked" while I was singing Old MacDonald on Dec. 10
He mimicked "hey" all throughout his 7th month.
I started brushing his teeth this month and he LOVES it!
"Clicking" his tongue
Aiden will look directly at Forrest whenever I say "Where's Daddy?"
I think he is saying some form of Mama when he is fussing while playing on the floor and wants to be picked up
Pulling up in his crib
Rocking himself in a kids rocking chair all by himself
Raking things with his fingernails

Clothes:
6 month sleepers, 6-9 month outfits

 Health:
Handsome, baby boy with 2 pearly whites
Aiden had a tiny bit of eczema when the weather got colder. It cleared right up when I kept vasoline on the places and lotioned him up.

Loves:
His MAMA : )
Bathtime
Swinging
Walks
Giving Kisses

Diapers:
We made the jump to size 3 diapers at the beginning ofd month 7
Aiden was leaking through his diapers at night so I had to buy some Huggies Overnights.

Misc:
His bottle two teeth popped through on December 11th. He wasn't extremely grouchy from them just wanted his MAMA : )
Lexi and Aiden are "playing" a lot more now. Aiden hardly ever pulls Lexi's hair now. Lexi will come up and sniff the toys and lay next to A especially if I'm not sitting right next to him.

What We're Working on This Month:
Saying "Hey" and waving
Knowing who Mama, Daddy & Lexi are

Decking the Halls

I don't know who was more excited about picking out the tree...me or Forrest!?!? We narrowed down the trees to two and then let Aiden pick. Little Man was out passed his bedtime and was still smiling.

Forrest put the tree in the stand while I bathed Aiden and got him ready for bed. We let him "play" with the tree for a few minutes.  With a little help Aiden put the first ornament on the tree and hit the sack.

Did I Really Just Say That?

As I was rocking Aiden to sleep for his afternoon nap, he tossed and turned. I read a book and sang "Cruise", "Amazing Grace", "Never Alone"...all of our usuals. He kept flopping like a fishing out of water and I told my 7 month old baby boy "Bubba, you need to go to sleep because Daddy will be home in 3 hours and you need to rest so you can play with him." Not another word was said and he was OUT!

 Somebody LOVES his Daddy!

I am so thankful to be married to man that loves me with all his heart! When I had Aiden, Forrest basically took over for the first 2 weeks. He rocked him, changed his diapers, sang to him and woke me up when Aiden needed to nurse. He exceeded my expectations in the Daddy & Husband department. Never in my wildest imagination could I believe that I'd be living the dream I am today.

Our Little Monkey

Halloween was a holiday I started brainstorming about when I found out I was pregnant. I love baby costumes! We spent the evening out at Kelly's with Aiden's Sumner cousins. I may be a little biased but he was the cutest monkey in town : )

Aiden makes every holiday extra special!

*Bear with me-I'm trying to play catch up with the blog!

Ibis Park

It's official...Aiden is an outdoor loving boy who likes to get dirty. I took him to the park for the first time and he smiled the entire time. He's such a blessing and a joy to be around!

We are so thankful for such supportive families!
Sometimes it's difficult to juggle between the two during the holidays but it's a good problem to have!

Catch Up

I've been slack on the blogging because it's fallen to the bottom of my priority list. By the time I put Aiden down for a nap, do laundry, pick up the house and pump he's up again. I'm going to TRY and do better but I'm not making any promises.

Here's last month's recap:

August

We've done a lot of "sitting up practice" and Lexi ALWAYS brings us toys to throw for her!

Aiden spent LOTS of time on his playmat doing naked tummy time and practiced rolling over. By the end of the month he was a pro at going from front to back and back to front.

Little Man learned how to turn the crab on his exersaucer.

We no longer have a Mama's Boy on our hands. Aiden is fascinated with his Daddy. The laughs Forrest can get from his mini me are precious!

...their newest "trick"

I'm not really sure how it got started.

I give you one guess who Mr. Man's smiling at...

We took a few fishing trips.

Napped with Papa

Tried vanilla ice cream for the first time (because Papa wanted to share)
...but hasn't had it since

 Snuggled with KK

Now on to September...
