 Somebody LOVES his Daddy!

I am so thankful to be married to man that loves me with all his heart! When I had Aiden, Forrest basically took over for the first 2 weeks. He rocked him, changed his diapers, sang to him and woke me up when Aiden needed to nurse. He exceeded my expectations in the Daddy & Husband department. Never in my wildest imagination could I believe that I'd be living the dream I am today.

A Blessing

Yesterday was the day I had been looking forward to since our little angel was born. It was the first day we stuck to a schedule! We are finally getting into our new "normal." Wednesday was the first day Aiden slept in his crib for every nap and throughout the night! Up until this point, Forrest and I had been sleeping in the living room on our air mattress. It was easier that way because Aiden started sleeping through the night early on extremely well in the swing and/or bassinet. Since Forrest and I NEVER sleep apart he was determined that sleeping in the living room together would give both of us both the maximum amount of sleep in the early weeks.

For the past two weeks I have been itching to get back into our bedroom and transition little man to the crib. I tried it a few times but it was not happening. Aiden was not ready! After doing tummy time 2 times a day for 3.5 weeks, I knew he was getting close! Baby AJ was getting to where he would roll from his stomach to his side. I had prayed a lot about doing the right thing at the right time for my son. I had a confidence sent from the Lord that Wednesday was THE DAY! I stuck to a semi-strict 3 hr schedule. Aiden took a 45 min early morning nap in his crib. I felt great about that! That's his normal for the swing. Next came the mid morning nap...that one did not go so well! He would sleep for 20-25 minutes then wake up screaming. Everytime I went into his room and picked him up and got him back to sleep (which only took 2-3 minutes). This went on for an hour! I was a little drained but knew I wanted to stick to it! His afternoon nap was a different story. It was a God Send!!! He napped for a solid 2 hours without me having to go in his room. The night went pretty well. We bathed him at 7:30, I fed him at 8:00 and put him down at 8:30. He woke up to eat at 12:30 am (which we were still up for), 3:30 am and 7:30 am! I know he didn't sleep through the  night but it went a lot better than I expected! I honestly thought I was going to be up all night with him. Instead I got up once with him and snuggled with my Baby Daddy the rest of the night : )

I feel like I'm just now getting into my groove. I'm finally having dinner on the table when Forrest comes home. I'm finally getting dressed with teeth brushed by the time Forrest comes home rather than looking the a homeless milk cow at 6 o'clock. I can't imagine being in any other place in life than I am right now!

I love my Lord for blessing me such an amazing son and spouse!

I love my Husband for wanting me to stay home with our son!

I love my sweet son for being my pride and joy!

God's Plan

Growing up, I always dreamed of getting married and raising a family. I hadn't really thought about what I wanted in my childhood and teenage years lately until today. While cleaning the house, this song came on pandora. I had never heard it before. It immediately made me hit my knees in a thanksgiving prayer! I looked down at my tiny bump and the dinner I needed to pop in the oven for the hubs. That in itself is what's important to me!

I am so thankful for the Lord blessing me to stay home with my baby before he/she even arrives!

I'm thankful for my husband who doesn't fuss if his favorite cup is dirty or if he eats the same meal 2 nights in one week! The man who has offered to have someone come in to clean the house once a week so I can just "grow our baby!" A person who works 12 hours a day and comes home asking what he can do for me

Another One to Spoil

Little Rosalie was born Saturday morning and has been a blessing ever since! Forrest and I were both in the waiting room when she arrived. It was such an exciting time for the Sumner Family. We went from 11 nieces and nephews to 12!

Rosalie and Kendall are doing great! I'm sure she's soaking her up as I type this : )

I loved seeing Luke holding Rosalie. He was so sweet with her!

To me this is the sweetest picture yet! Rosalie poked her feet out of the chair rails.
Forrest had to support them : )

Now, I'm ready to get our little bun in the oven here!

Better late than never!

Forrest had his 28th birthday on Labor Day his year! We kept it low key this year due to a lot of reasons: I was constantly nauseous, he labored on Labor Day and we are going to the beach this weekend!

Once Forrest got off work, we went to Outback with his parents then enjoyed the quiet evening to ourselves!

HIS Favorite Time of the Year

Last night started Forrest's all time favorite time of the year. He has been anticipating kick off for months! I'm pretty sure we can never have any big family events between September and December. Thinking about our upcoming year- I'm glad I'm due in April for away from football season!

Like any happy marriage, we make deals. In exchange for Forrest watching football ALL day, I will get an outfit or two or three! It's a win win for us both : )

In the spirit of this time of year, I searched pinterest for my favorite football pins!

A Long Time Coming

Written April 24, 2012

Our First Born,

Most days I cry because I am so ready for an addition to our family. We prayed and prayed about the best time for you. The Lord gave your Daddy the wisdom to wait, to save and be smart with our money. He wants you to have everything! He is going to be such a great father to you! He treats me like a queen so I can't even imagine how he's going to treat you! We can't wait to hold you in our arms!

Until then.....

The Night We Found Out

I had an inkling we were pregnant Sunday night, August 12th, so I decided to test. I got one very faint positive line that Forrest did not believe. It was the kind of result that I had to hold up to the light and squint to see my positive. Forrest insisted we bust out the digital! I went along with him took the test and let it sit. Next thing I hear is what sounds like a girl screaming "Pregnant, Pregnant, Pregnant!"

Neither one of us believed it, so I made 3 trips to Publix to get more tests. On the way back from Publix the last time, I balled and the only words that could come out were "Thank you LORD!" Before we started trying for a baby, I had a lot of stress over actually getting pregnant. I worried irrationally that we would never get pregnant or that it would take us a really long time. That Sunday was the second best day in my life. The Lord gave us one of HIS children the first month we tried!

These were our results!

I had been thinking about how to tell everyone for months! Neither one of us could hold it in so between Sunday night and Monday, we told everyone in our immediate family. My cutesy plans went out the window. All I wanted to do was share our news : )

We are ecstatic and unbelievably thankful for the blessing the Lord has given us.

This was taken the night we found out we are going to have a BABY!!!! It's not the best picture but I want to remember the night just as it was!

Please don't judge my dirty mirror! I've had a baby on my brain :)

Goodbye for Now!

We were sad to leave but I was so glad I got to spend a few days relaxing with my best friend!

Saturday in Paradise!

On Saturday, Forrest suggested we go shopping at Johns Pass. This is yet another reason I'm still savoring our time at the beach. My hardworking husband had no worries while we were away so he kicked his "spoil my wife rotten" plan up a notch. Every meal he let me pick and every idea he had was something he knew I would love!

Once we got back to our hotel in the afternoon, we hit the beach and stayed until right before sunset.

We walked on the pier and chatted with some local fishermen who said they just caught a 4 foot nurse shark! Who knows if this was true or fish tales?

FRIDAY!

Forrest asked me the night before to open the sliding glass door to the balcony so that he could wake to the sound of the ocean. Great idea...except for the fact that I woke up because the sun was shining in the room. I opened it up and sat on the balcony sipping my tea. I thought it was strange that no one was one the beach. Forrest rolled over and asked what time it was. I looked and realized it was 6:30 AM! Needless to say, I guess I should have checked the clock. Rest assured the next morning I closed the curtains so the sun didn't shine in quite so early!

Since Friday was our first full day at the beach, we played it low key. Our morning and afternoon was spent at the pool and beach. We spent the evening walking the beach.

Day of Arrival Thursday!

I haven't written about the beach until now because in my head we were still there. I was stuck in paradise- still dreaming of breakfast in bed, lunch overlooking the ocean and filet mignon for dinner?

We stayed at our favorite hotel, The Doubletree. I could go on and on about how make we love it! It's clean and everyone is so friendly!

We checked in at 3 on Thursday and spent the day looking around the hotel and beach.

I have no words to describe our view!

There were people putting on their own firework show down from our hotel. We enjoyed watching from our balcony!

We're Addicted to...YSW!

I make a baked lean protein along with a veggie for dinner every night. We typically exercise for an hour then head to our favorite You Say When to pick up our favorite treat.

It's gotten expensive and we don't need our fix every night! So today we are giving it up and only going on special occasions.

So pray for us, we may be a little grouchy for a few days :)
