New Things Around Here!

For a while now washer has been "acting up." I finally gave in and had a repairman come out. A friendly chat and $132 later we have to get a new washer!!!!

It's funny how we reacted to this situation. I immediately started shopping online, consulting Consumer Reports and got so excited! Forrest, on the other hand, started punching numbers and tweaking our budget. I guess it's obvious who handles the finances around here : )

Today I am breaking this bad boy in! I know this sounds crazy but I'm looking forward to doing my first load of laundry in my new washer! My favorite housework is LAUNDRY! Yes, that's right...it feels like magic every time I put our sweaty running clothes in and voila out pops fresh clothes that smell incredible!

Changes

Our little Lex has made a few stains on our carpets (while going through the training process) so we decided to bite the bullet and get new floors. Uncle Wayne has been here all week ripping out the carpet and putting in laminate floors. It was a wreck for a few days but I am so glad we did it!

Does this mess send you into a tizzy? It sure did me!

Deck the Halls

By the time this weekend arrived, we were done decorating the house. It was a nice relaxing time for me. The presents are all wrapped and the only thing I have left to do is the holiday baking! I spent the whole day Saturday looking through cookbooks and watching movies. Another plus is that Forrest worked from home so it was nice to have him with me.

Enjoy some of our Christmas Decor!

My favorite this year
The bowl is filled with cinnamon pine cones and fresh Christmas tree sprigs! mmm....

This was just too pretty not to pass up.

I took clippings from the real tree and filled the house with them. It smelled so good!

The holding station for our out of town presents and White Elephants : )

Messy Kitchen = Full Bellies

This is what happens when I bake EACH AND EVERY TIME! Maybe one day I will learn how to make a cake without such a mess!

Every dish is dirty, cabinets open, dishwasher full, floor is covered in red sprinkles...

Hours later poof NO MESS and Cake is finished = Bliss : )

Do We Bleed Orange & Blue or Garnet & Gold?

This past week I decided to tackle painting the downstairs of our house. I picked out colors and away I went! My idea was to paint the living room and the majority of the kitchen gold and the cabinet walls a cranberryish color. I was so excited to paint my very own house! I dashed home everyday after work to get to right on my project.

A few very late nights later, I was finished with the kitchen but after taking a second look I realized I had done a very bad thing! Our kitchen was GARNET AND GOLD! I thought about not saying anything to Forrest because he liked it and did not even notice. I didn't have the heart to keep quiet. I just knew if I didn't say anything Pa or Dad were going to come over and say..."What are we Seminole fans now?" I brought down and said "Honey, did you know our kitchen is garnet and gold?" He said "AHH, well you know what we've got to do. CHANGE IT!"

Needless to say, I am painting over the red because we couldn't betray our entire family!
