Mother's Day

Mother's Day rolled around this year and I just HAD to see my mama! I drove to Apopka after church and got to see everyone at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Growing up, I can't remember a Sunday we didn't go over to Grandma's and fight over where to eat :) It was fun to be a part of our tradition again.

A Mother's love is something

that no on can explain,

It is made of deep devotion

and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish

and enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it

or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving

when all others are forsaking,

And it never fails or falters

even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing

when the world around condemns,

And it glows with all the beauty

of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining,

it defies all explanation,

And it still remains a secret

like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendoured miracle

man cannot understand

And another wondrous evidence

of God's tender guiding hand.

Bundle of Savings

I recently found a new website I couldn't resist to share. It was created by a lady with 4 children who she homeschools. She used to spend $600 on groceries and after using her Tru Coupon technique she spends $250...Incredible!

I put her ideas to use today when I went to Publix and saved more than I spent!

Here was my transaction:

  • 4 Bags of Eight O'Clock Coffee (Buy 1 get 1 Free at Publix) at $4.93 a bag
  • 2 Boxes of Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mix (Buy 1 get 1 Free at Publix) at $1.59 a box

In addition to the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Deals, I used two coupons. One was for $1.50 off two bags of coffee and the other was for $1.00 off two bags.

In the end...I spent $8.95 and SAVED $13.95!

Sleepover with the Dixon's

Emma and Jake spent the night with us last night so Tracy, Jason and Makayla could go to the Rays game. I loved having them over! They always seem to spice things up : )

Here are a few pictures from the evening. Enjoy!

I love how Emma has her arm over Jake's shoulder

A note that Emma made for us...so sweet!

Chain of Love

Last night Forrest had an icecream craving so we drove to Sweetbay and on the way realized we didn't have our wallets! Luckily, we had left a checkbook in the car so we went on our way thinking we would just write a check. We spent ten minutes picking out what we wanted and checked out. I wrote the check and the cashier said "Can I see your ID?" We obviously didn't have either ID so we were just going to leave it there. Just as we turned away, the lady behind us said I'll pay for it!

If that doesn't make you want to show complete strangers a little extra kindness...I don't know what will!
